OTTUMWA — The Oskaloosa boys swim team made a little bit of history at Tuesday’s meet in Ottumwa. Aaron Wilson’s sub 30 second 50 freestyle meant every boy the team is under 30 seconds in the 50 freestyle for the first time in team history.
“We are so proud of this accomplishment,” Oskaloosa head coach Rachel Brown said. “The boys came ready to compete tonight and it really showed in their races and times.”
Carson Breon brought home first in place in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke for the Indians.
Aaron Scholes placed fifth in the 50 freestyle as well as third in the 100 breaststroke while dropping his time by over a second.
In addition to his impressive 50 free time, Wilson also sported a good time in the 100 breaststroke.
Keygan Roberts dropped over a second on his 100 freestyle time while also placing fourth in the 100 backstroke where he dropped over three seconds off his best time.
Payton Snyder took fourth in the 200 freestyle and dropped over a second on his 100 freestyle time.
Oskaloosa will head to Indianola on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. for the Little Hawkeye Conference Meet.
