OSKALOOSA — The seventh grade boys basketball team carried on their winning ways Tuesday evening as the Indians swept three games from the Grinnell Tigers to move to 14-3 on the season.
In the “A” game, the Indians dominated from start to finish caging the Tigers on great team defense and the scoring of Max Roach (23 points), Kayne Boender (14 points) and Trey Parks (11 points), 54-24. Ethan Stek and Tate Peterson chipped in three points to help the Indian cause.
In the “B” game, the Indians went on a 6-0 run to start the game. The Indians defense had to fight off several charges from the Tiger offense throughout the game but pulled away for a 22-18 Oskaloosa victory. Almost everyone got in the scoring column led by Heavon Knoxs' nine points (all three-pointers). Tate Peterson added five points while Landon Romas, Liam Dykstra, and Cole Van Der Wal added two points apiece. Holden Braundmeier and Samba Cisse added one point apiece from the charity stripe.
In the “C” game, it was pretty much the same as the first two contests. Almost everyone contributed in the scoring column, and great team defense held the Tigers to 10 points. Leading the Indians were Marshall Siebert with 10 points. Maddox Maxwell added four points while Mason Muir, Cole Van Der Wal, Brock Beerbower, Trevin Griffin, Chad McDonald-Playle, Mason Beane and Kazy Malloy chipped in two points apiece to get the 28-10 victory.
