The Oskaloosa football team picked up a big 28-26 overtime win over Newton in their likely final home game of the season. Cale Holmberg was a huge reason the Indians were able to come out on top as he made key plays on both sides of the ball.
He would grab five catches for 63 yards including the big 32-yard touchdown grab on fourth and four where he slipped a couple of tackles on his way to the end zone to tie the game.
He also rushed for 17 hard-earned yards and one TD on the ground.
Defensively, he finished second on the team with five tackles including one tackle for loss.
On the season, the reliable Holmberg has 24 catches for 184 yards and two touchdowns while running for 25 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He has 19.5 tackles this season including 4.5 for loss and one sack.
Holmberg and Oskaloosa (2-5) travel to Carlisle (4-3) for the first round of the playoffs on Friday at 7 p.m.
