The Oskaloosa wrestling team huddles before a dual against Newton.

WINTERSET — Oskaloosa made the trip to Winterset to compete with 15 teams in the Gary Christensen Duals. The Indians left going 1-3 on the day.

Oskaloosa started with a 51-21 loss to Urbandale. Garisin Hynick (152) picked up a pin while Trey Miller (126) won by 6-1 decision.

The Indians would then fall to Osage 51-19 in the second round. Lucas Phillips (160) and Miller won by fall while Ryllie Siroky (106) earned a 10-0 major decision and Garrett Roethler (120) won a 4-0 decision.

Oskaloosa picked up their lone win of the day with a 63-16 defeat of Eagle Grove. Hynick, Phillips, Junior Ramirez (195), Warren Feudner (285), Siroky, Phillip Abrahamson (132) and Zack Beebe (138) all picked up falls while Miller earned a 9-3 decision.

The Indians wrapped up their day with a tough 81-0 loss to the host Winterset.

Individually, Osky wrestlers went 19-34 on the day with 10 pins while moving their team dual record to 7-6 this season.

Oskaloosa is back on the mat on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when they travel to Albia for a triangular against the Blue Demons and Fairfield.
