OSKALOOSA — Loubert Dagrin (So., Miami, Fla., Sociology) broke a 40-year-old record as he earned Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors Monday.
Dagrin collected his first award after snapping a school record at the William Penn Statesmen Invitational last Friday.
The sophomore won the 110-meter hurdles event with a time of 14.40 seconds, breaking the 1981 record of 14.60 set by Richard Baskerville.
Dagrin’s time moves him into automatic national-qualifying position. He currently leads the Heart in the event and is seventh in the NAIA.
The award is the first for WPU this year.
