OSKALOOSA — Oskaloosa got some momentum at the end of the first half then at the start of the second half, but the Indians failed to capitalize on the opportunity Friday night at Statesmen Community Stadium.

The Indians scored on the final play of the opening half on a 21-yard pass play from Will Schultz to Noah VanVeldhuizen to pull them to within 14-7 at intermission.

But Oskaloosa was forced to punt and 10th-ranked Norwalk intercepted two passes and scored 17 points in the third quarter on its way to a 31-7 victory.

Oskaloosa managed 192 yards of offense a Reed Brown ran for 39 yards and Will Schultz had 35 yards on the ground.

Schultz passed for 112 yards on 9 of 21 passing and had one pass intercepted. Brown was 1 of 2 passing for a minus-2 yards and also had an interception.

VanVeldhuizen caught three passes for 43 yards and the TD while Wyatt Krier also had three receptions but for a minus-1 yard. Iszac Schultz had 36 yards on two catches.

Colin Snitker recorded a team-high 12 tackles and Leland Evans had eight tackles. Brown and Walker Newman both had seven tackles.

Oskaloosa will host Grinnell next week for Homecoming and it will be the district opener.
