INDIANOLA — Oskaloosa traveled to Indianola Monday for a battle of the Indians and Indianola captured a 6-2 win in Little Hawkeye Conference action.

Indianola scored four runs in the third inning on three hits and one Oskaloosa error. Indianola then added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings for the win.

Oskaloosa got both of its runs in the sixth on a pair of RBI singles.

Kaylee Johnson walked and got to second on a sacrificed. Meghan Moorman then hit a run-scoring single and was replaced by Macie Krier, who scored on Abby Braundmeier's two-out RBI single.

Indianola outhit Oskaloosa 11-5 in the contest as Faith DeRonde took the loss to drop to 5-4 on the season. She walked four and struck out two in six innings of work.

Moorman and Braundmeier each had an RBI single while Ashley Kindley had a double. DeRonde and Ava Vande Wall both had a single as Johnson and Krier scored the runs.

Oskaloosa falls to 17-12 overall and 7-0 in the LHC.
