The Oskaloosa wrestling team cheers on their teammate during a dual earlier this season.

ALBIA — The Oskaloosa Indian wrestling team split a pair of duals in Albia on Tuesday, falling to Albia 50-24 before bouncing back with a 65-18 win over Fairfield.

With the dual starting at 126 pounds, Albia picked up wins in the first five matches to jump out to a 20-0 lead.

Oskaloosa would retaliate with three straight pins from Lucas Phillips (160), Blake Westercamp (170) and Will Campbell (182) to cut the deficit to 20-18.

But Albia would close out strong with two pins and three forfeit wins to secure the dual.

Osky would look to bounce back against the Trojans and they did just that, surrendering just two forfeits and one fall to Fairfield in a dominating dual win.

The Indians picked up falls from Trey Miller (126), Zack Beebe (138), Mason Teeter (145), Garisin Hynick (152), Phillips (160), Westercamp (170), Junior Ramirez (195) and Warren Feudner (285) while Philip Abrahamson (132) nabbed a 16-0 tech fall.

Oskaloosa’s dual record moves to 8-7 this year as they will travel to Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
