Jack Hartley coached one season at WPU.

OSKALOOSA — William Penn Athletics Director Nik Rule has announced that Jack Hartley has resigned as Head Women’s Soccer Coach.

“First of all, I want to thank Athletic Director Nik Rule, President John Ottosson, and William Penn University for the opportunity,” Hartley said. “It was a difficult year to navigate, but the school did an amazing job of ensuring seasons went ahead safely. The group has come a long way in the last 12 months and I wish them the best of luck. I know they have some great things coming as they continue to work hard. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at William Penn.”

Hartley headed the Statesmen during the 2020-2021 season as WPU finished 3-12-1, including posting a 2-10 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

“Coach Hartley helped the women’s soccer team navigate through the most difficult period in the history of college athletics,” Rule said. “The team was able to stay on the field and compete in a very important year of development as we continue to move forward in our determination to return this program to national prominence. We wish him and his wife nothing but the best.”

WPU has already begun a national search for Hartley’s replacement.
