SIOUX CITY — A former Pella kicker made history over the weekend for the Morningside football team.
Chase Carter, a Knoxville native and 2019 graduate of Pella, became the fourth kicker in Mustang program history to make 100-or-more extra points by going 8-for-8 on Saturday.
On the season, the sophomore kicker is made 1-of-2 field goal attempts, driving through a 37 yarder. He is also 31-of-34 on PATs.
Carter still has a ways to go for the all-time school record of 323 made extra points in a career, which was set by Jared Amundson in 2018.
Carter and Morningside, the two-time defending NAIA champions, are currently 5-0 as they look to stay unbeaten when they go to Dordt on Saturday.
