Bailey Van Voorst

Pella's Bailey Van Voorst (8) makes a pass.

School: Pella

Grade: Junior

Sport: Volleyball

Position: Outside Hitter

Conference play has been stressful so far for the Pella Lady Dutch as they won back-to-back five set matches including last week’s 3-2 (25-20, 26-24, 21-25, 23-25, 15-8) victory over Norwalk. Junior outside hitter Bailey Van Voorst was a big reason Pella came away with the win in that match due to her play with and without the ball.

Offensively, she led the Lady Dutch attack with a team-high 18 kills and a solid 23.7% kill efficiency. She also was 10-for-14 serving with three aces.

Defensively, Van Voorst stayed active with a team-high 20 digs to go along with two blocks at the net.

On the season, Van Voorst leads the team with 78 kills with a 15.7% kill efficiency. She’s also recorded 74 digs (40 more than any of her teammates), nine blocks and a team-best 12 aces.

Van Voorst and No. 12 (4A) Pella (7-2, 2-0) return home on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. for a Little Hawkeye Conference match against Newton (6-5, 1-1).
