The Pella Lady Dutch celebrate winning a point against Ballard.

NORWALK — Conference play has started off with a bang for the Lady Dutch as they improved to 2-0 in conference play after another five-set battle. This time it was Pella holding on for the 3-2 (25-20, 26-24, 21-25, 23-25, 15-8) win over Norwalk.

The first four sets could’ve gone either way with Pella edging the the first two get in the driver’s seat and go ahead 2-0.

Norwalk would fight back to win the next two sets and force a deceive fifth set. Pella would get out and hold off the momentum the Warriors had to take the fifth set.

Bailey Van Voorst had herself a night with 20 kills, four blocks and 20 digs.

Jasmine Namminga was also impressive with 13 kills, five blocks and three aces.

No. 12 (4A) Pella (7-2, 2-0) return home on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. when they host Newton (6-5, 1-1).
