Matchup history

Panorama won the only matchup between these two in the QuikStats era 30-25 in 2009.

One key player for Pella Christian

Panorama is second in Class 1A in passing yards. That should wet the appetite of a lethal pass rusher like Luke Mulder, who leads PC with 56.5 tackles and 6.5 sacks. The Eagles will need Mulder to be a problem for the Panthers passing game. If Panorama QB Dominic Walker, who has 1,982 passing yards and 19 TDs and is also their leading rusher with 330 yards, has time in the pocket, then it will put a lot of stress on PC’s secondary.

Keys for Pella Christian

Panorama has given up a combined 18 points in their last five games including three shutouts. They feel like they’ve hit their stride in recent weeks with their two losses coming to undefeated teams in Grundy Center and Van Meter early in the year. The Eagles need to put pressure on the quarterback. They will hope to do that naturally with a four-man rush but may need to dial up a blitz every now and again. PC should feel good offensively, they’ve been balanced recently with Cody Boender in the running game while quarterback Isaac Kacmarysnki has a nice connection with Eric Mulder and Caden Van Dyke in the passing game. It should be a good battle as both teams look to stay alive and move on to the round of 16.
