PELLA — The first of two games to finish off the 2021 calendar year for the Pella Christian boys basketball team saw the Eagles take care of business on their home floor and dispatch Pekin, 64-30.
PC was able to find their shooting range early and were able to gain a solid 16-10 lead after one quarter of play.
The second quarter is where the Eagles would fly away with this one. A combination of great defense and balanced scoring would lead them to outscoring the Panthers 21-3 in the second stanza and take a 37-13 lead to halftime.
Pella Christian wouldn’t look back as they were able to empty their bench and see 10 of their 13 players find the scoresheet in the contest.
The Eagles used their size to dominate the glass with 42 total rebounds including 20 offensive boards while they also had active hands with 14 steals as a team.
Aiden Stoltz knocked down four threes on his way to a team-high 12 points while Daniel Andringa added 11 points and eight rebounds. Erik Mulder also scored in double figures with 10 points, four rebounds and two steals while Levi Schelhaas returned to the lineup and ended with nine points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
