No. 4 Pella 5, Fort Madison 0
PELLA — The Lady Dutch were able to punch their ticket to the state tournament on Thursday after a mostly stress-free 5-0 win over Fort Madison in the regional finals.
Pella broke through about midway through the opening half before an avalanche of goals would see them pull ahead for good.
Abby Warner would score a pair of goals on the night with Lizzie Neumann, Kaylee Van Polen and Lauren Mace also scored. Sarah Hardman tallied two assists while Mia Warner, Avary Hunsinger and Eliza Van Zee all had one assist. Haley Van Houweling had two saves in the shutout win.
No. 4 Pella (14-2) will face No. 5 ADM (12-4) on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. on Field 8 at James Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.

Pella’s Lyons completes first day at state
CEDAR FALLS — It was a pretty good first day of the Class 3A Girls Golf Tournament for Pella’s Karsyn Lyons in Cedar Falls.
Lyons would shoot a 39 on the front while struggling a little on the back with a 45 to finish her round with an 84. That was good enough to put her tied for 14th overall and just one shot back of the top 10.
Lyons resumes play on Friday morning with the second and final round of the tournament.

Oskaloosa 9, Centerville 4
OSKALOOSA — New Oskaloosa head coach Caitlin Woods tallied win number one on Thursday in comeback fashion over the Redettes.
Centerville jumped in front early with four runs coming across in the top of the first inning. Oskaloosa was able to get back a pair in the bottom of the inning and were able to continue that momentum into the following innings with one run in the second and two in the third to take the lead. They then added four more insurance runs in the sixth to seal the win.
Oskaloosa (1-2) travels to the Williamsburg Tournament on Saturday.

No. 15 (3A) PCM 4, Pella 3
PELLA — A defensive battle for most of the game, PCM rallied late to take the lead and hold off a Pella rally.
The Lady Dutch got things going with one run in the first with PCM answering with a run of their own in the top of the second. After a couple of scoreless frames, Pella would take the lead with a run in the fifth only for PCM to answer again but this time with three runs in the sixth. The Lady Dutch would try to rally late with one run crossing in the seventh to make it a one run game before they ran out of steam.
Katie Pollock was 3-for-4 while Ava Curry also reached base three times going 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Kylie Tauke and Katie Scheckel would both drive in one run for the Lady Dutch.
Saige De Jong would pitch 5 1/3 innings allowing four runs on four hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
Pella (1-1) is right back in action on Friday at 7 p.m. at home against Grand View Christian (1-1).
