MAHASKA COUNTY — The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office received a complaint on Thursday, May 10 that a juvenile female had been sexually assaulted in March of 2018. The juvenile reported that this assault occurred at a rural Eddyville address within Mahaska County.
Following an investigation into this matter, Sheriff's Officials arrested 18-year-old Ean James Beenken of Eddyville, charging him with one count of sexual abuse in the third degree (a class D felony), one count of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse (an aggravated misdemeanor) and one count of indecent exposure (a serious misdemeanor.
Beenken was arrested at approximately 2 p.m. this date in the 1700 block of Indian Way, Oskaloosa.
Beenken was taken to the Mahaska County Jail and will make his initial appearance in the Mahaska County Magistrate's Court on Friday, May 25. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
