OSKALOOSA — Law enforcement have made an arrest after a reported stabbing.

Miranda Terrell, 23, of Hartford, was charged with willful injury causing serious injury, a class C felony, on Saturday. Members of the Oskaloosa Police Department responded to the Greenway Apartments for a female with a stab wound to the back.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital, where court documents say a trauma surgeon informed police the stab wound was millimeters from being fatal. Police said she had serious injuries but did not provide her condition or identity.

Officers say a physical altercation had started inside one of the apartment units that led to the stabbing.

Terrell remained on scene and was arrested without incident when officers arrived.

Members of the Oskaloosa Police Department were assisted by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and Mahaska County 911 Center.
