OSKALOOSA — The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors heard Nov. 1 from Steve Burnett and Mike Hansen about a potential broadband collaboration between the county and MCG as a potential use for the American Recovery Plan Act.

Burnett said that reliable Internet access at home is an important commodity to allow Mahaska County residents to work from home.

“Last year I think we all learned that more people can work from home than what we thought,” Burnett said.

Because the deadline for the grant is Nov. 22, board members expressed concern that the timeline might be challenging but ultimately decided to set a decision date for the Nov. 15 regular meeting.
