KNOXVILLE — Authorities say a fire at the former VA campus in Knoxville on Sunday was intentionally set.
According to a press release issued by the Marion County Sheriff’s office, the department responded to a report of a structure fire on the VA campus, located at 1515 W. Pleasant, at approximately 1:21 p.m.
The Knoxville Fire Department and Knoxville Township Fire also responded to the fire located in Building 2 of the campus. Both fire departments were able to contain the flames to one room of the building. The Marion County Sheriff’s office has determined the fire was intentionally set and has issued an investigation.Other agencies that responded to the fire to assist were the Knoxville Police Department and Pella Ambulance.
