MAHASKA COUNTY — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area, including southern Mahaska County.
The warning is in service until 5:15 p.m. At 4:40 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located eight miles west of Eddyville or 10 miles southwest of Oskaloosa, moving at 30 mph. There could be quarter-sized hail and flash flooding.
Locations impacted include Oskaloosa, Eddyville, Fremont, Beacon, University Park, Bussey, Rose Hill and Keomah Village.
Another warning has been issued for northeastern Mahaska County. That warning expires at 5 p.m.
