PELLA — Precision Pulley & Idler - PPI has awarded a $20,000 grant to Pella Historical Society and Museums for two upcoming projects.
“PPI is proud to be a supporter of our local communities,” said Leslie Johnston, vice president of human resources at PPI. “Recently PPI granted the Pella Historical Society $20,000 to help support two important projects in Pella. The two projects they are currently raising funds for are a renovation to the Klokkenspel and updating the sound system used in the streets of Pella during Tulip Time. We are thankful to have the opportunity to participate in these projects.”
The two projects are a complete renovation of the Klokkenspel in downtown Pella, including the update of electrical systems, bells, screens, mannequins and digital components, and “completely overhauling” the sound system used on the streets at Tulip Time and other outdoor events throughout the year.
"It's wonderful to live in a city where local businesses and manufacturers help keep that city a vibrant culture for all of our citizens,” said Val Van Kooten, executive director of Pella Historical. “Pella Historical Museums is so appreciative of PPI's donation toward projects that mean so much to us and our visitors."
