OSKALOOSA — Police arrested a wanted suspect Tuesday morning that was briefly barricaded.
Elijah John Utterback, 42, of Oskaloosa, was arrested on local warrants for domestic assault causing bodily injury, domestic abuse assault, and false imprisonment.
Officers located Utterback at a home in the 300 block of 1st Avenue East. A press release from the Oskaloosa Police Department said due to law enforcement history with the individual, they opted to enlist numerous area law enforcement agencies to assist in his apprehension.
The press release says that after negotiators spoke with Utterback, he was taken into custody without further incident.
The Oskaloosa Police Department was assisted by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Mahaska County Emergency Management, Oskaloosa Fire Department and the Mahaska County 911 Center.
