Pinocchio audition

Oskaloosa students start preparing for their roles in the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of ‘Pinocchio’ on Monday, Jan. 13.

OSKALOOSA —It’s an actor’s life for 64 Oskaloosa students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The students auditioned for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of ‘Pinocchio’ on Monday, Jan. 13. Around 90 students auditioned for roles in the musical, with 64 cast.

According to a news release, Missoula touring directors Kamlin Cox and Charlie Von Adler arrived on Monday with a set, costumes for all, props, and everything needed for a play — except the actors.

The cast is preparing this week learning their lines, music, blocking, and choreography for two performances on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The local cast features Sage Cochran as Pinocchio, Grace Richardson as Jiminy Cricket and Jade Ryan/Hysell-Ahlhelm as the Blue Fairy. The Fox is played by Finley Pearce and the Cat is Isabella Stutting. Isabel Harvey is playing Candlewick and Candlewick’s Crew is made up of Makenzie Banicky, Madison Chamberlin, Brenna Deffenbaugh, Devanshu Dholakia, Lorelei Hostetler, Madison Howard, and Kylynne Roberts.

The Puppetmaster, Stromboli, is Gavin Higgins and the Puppets are played by Arianah Edwards, Tandee Howe, and Brooke Richardson. The Toys are played by Alesha Banicky, Sawyer Barnhart, Naia Brice, Nash Burress, Libby Mitrisin, Violet Moses, Madilynn Osborn, Brynn Pollock, Kaci Rogers, Chessa San, Nicholas Skinner, Alaura Smith, Wyatt Steinlage, and Luuk Van Ee.

The group of Urchins are Madison Binn, Breauna Fenton, Lisa Van Donselaar, Justina Falconer, Regan Higgins, Abigail Lindgren, Alexandra Nolan, Bella Pollock, Tobin Tarbell, and Jade Whitley.

The cast is rounded out by the Pleasure Island Kids who are played by Gemma Brice, Isabell Bunker, Aleigha Burton, Ella Mullins, Sarina McCollum, Cheyanne Mullins, Emma Roberts, Olivia Roberts, Christopher Skinner, Alyssa Smith, Lane Smith, Isabella Stewart, Addie St. Peter, Cadence Stutting, Lilian Tarbell, Sophie Tower, and Micah Van Ee.

Pinocchio’s adventures can be seen at the George Daily Auditorium on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults and are available by calling 641-672-0799, online at www.georgedaily.org, or at the George Daily Auditorium box office.
