PELLA — Ashley Albertson, CNA, Emergency Department, was selected as Pella Regional Health Center’s May Shining Star for her high performance standards.
Albertson, resident of Fremont, was nominated based on attitude, appearance, commitment, communication, etiquette, privacy, safety, and sense of ownership.
An excerpt from her nomination said, “My 6-year-old son had to have an electrocardiogram (EKG) and was extremely anxious and scared. Ashley was the patient care technician in the emergency department that day and was phenomenal! She was calm and patient with him. She explained everything to him in an age-appropriate way and calmed his nerves. By the time the EKG was done he was giggling! She showed compassion, reverence for life, integrity, and excellence! Ashley is always delightful and has a positive attitude. She is amazing at her job and constantly goes above and beyond to provide compassionate care to our patients. We are blessed to have her as part of our team in the emergency department.”
Albertson will receive a $100 gift, a plaque, and will automatically be included in the nominations for Shining Star of the Year award.
