LAKE RED ROCK — There were no injuries in a Friday afternoon plane crash, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.
At 12:07 p.m. Friday, law enforcement were notified that a sea plane had hit the water at Lake Red Rock and overturned. Responders went to the scene and made contacts with both occupants of the plane. There were no injuries.
A press release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office did not identify either occupant of the plane. It's not known whether a mechanical or pilot error led to the incident.
It remains under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
