OSKALOOSA – A trial for a Oskaloosa man charged with involuntary manslaughter has been delayed.

Cody James Henry Lee Vancenbrock is accused of causing the death of 24-year-old Ashley Shafer, whose body was found in the South Skunk River on Aug. 6, 2019.

Vancenbrock is also charged with a controlled substance violation, gathering where controlled substances are used, abuse of a corpse by hiding or burying it and obstructing prosecution or defense.

Trial is now set for Sept. 15 at 9 a.m. A pretrial conference has been set for July 30 at 10:15 a.m.
