SWAN — A Knoxville woman was killed in a Sunday crash near the small town of Swan.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 82-year-old Glenna K. Clarke, of Knoxville, was killed when the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze she was driving collided with another vehicle. The crash was reported at 3:50 p.m. Sunday at Highway 5 and Highway 316 in rural Warren County.

According to the preliminary report, Clarke was attempting to cross Highway 5 from Highway 316. As she was crossing, her vehicle was struck by a 2019 Ford F350 driven by Charles John Spurling, 53, of Goldfield, Iowa. Both vehicles entered the median and came to a rest together.

The driver and passenger of the F350 were checked out by emergency responders and released with no reported injuries. Clarke suffered fatal injuries.

Clarke's body was transported to the state medical examiner's office.
