OSKALOOSA — Shots were fired in the 700 block of North C Street at around 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4.
According to a news release from the Oskaloosa Police Department, police responded to the call and an investigation revealed a small group of people was being disorderly in the street, which escalated into a fight. A juvenile male had displayed a stolen gun and fired it into the street.
A residence in the 700 block of Penn Boulevard was struck, but there were no injuries.
Officers later located the suspect and the firearm. The juvenile was arrested without incident and lodged in a detention center. He was charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of discharge of a firearm within city limits, one count of theft in the fourth degree and one count of carrying weapons.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
