6:30 p.m. Oskaloosa Women's Connection’s monthly dinner at Central Church. This month, the connection’s program will be provided by Beverly Swenson from Lincoln, Nebraska. She's going to show everyone how to make vegetable and fruit garnishes. She will also give participants the recipe for a fulfilling life. Cindy Drost will provide beautiful music on her vibraphone. As always, Hy-Vee will provide a delicious meal. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15. Reservations are required for dinner and free childcare by calling Ellen Thompson at 641-660-4328 by Friday, May 12. If participants need child care, the connection will pay you that evening what you have to pay for a babysitter.

12 p.m. Lois Harris and Veronica Grim, Mahaska County Master Gardeners, will share information on growing herbs. The event is free and open to the public. This program is free for those who want to learn more about financial powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, living wills and the Final Disposition Act. No registration is needed. This event is sponsored the ISBA Elder Law Section in honor of Older Iowans Month and is in room A/B on the third floor.
