4 p.m. Teen Movie Night at Oskaloosa Public Library. Disney’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” will be shown in the Makerspace Lab on the first floor for teens grades 6-12.
5:30-6:30 p.m. Mahaska Free Clinic at 408 S 11th Street in Oskaloosa. Free Clinics of Iowa, Mahaska Health and Love in the Name of Christ will provide the Mahaska Free Clinic for county residents the second Tuesday of each month. The clinic offers employment physicals, blood pressure checks and glucose testing, as well as treatments for sore throats, ear aches and other non-emergent conditions.
5:30-7 p.m. Pella Business Exchange (PBX) at Smash Park. Meet and connect with like-minded individuals in a casual setting. Each event will feature a topic of discussion as business owners, employees and budding entrepreneurs share ideas and advice over a drink. PBX is the second Tuesday of each month.
Wednesday, March 15
6:30-8 p.m. Color Experiments at Pella Community Center. Are you interested in experimenting with color and natural dyeing? This class will use flowers and vegetables harvested from the Art Center’s Summer Learning and Dyeing Garden. Participants will experiment and learn which plants will produce color or print onto fabric and paper. Sign up is per session. This class is for ages 8 years to adult with a maximum of 15 participants and a minimum of four.
Thursday, March 16
7-8 p.m. Pella Historical Society presents "The Dutch and the Black Hand” at Pella Opera House. This event is part of the History Series, presented by Dr. Keith Fynaardt, professor of English at Northwestern University in Orange City and a native of Peoria, Iowa. He will explore what happens when two cultures clash and a war serves to stoke fear in everyone. Cost is $10 at the door and free for PHSM members.
Friday, March 17
7:30-8:45 a.m. Exchange Friday. This event takes place every Friday at 7:30 a.m., typically at Smokey Row in Oskaloosa, and is hosted by The Exchange for Entrepreneurs. This event is for those interested in starting a business; who have already started a business; have questions or concerns, new business thoughts or are just curious.
6-9 p.m. Live music at Smash Park Pella by Justin Goodchild.
7-11 p.m. St. Patty’s Day Party at the Oskaloosa American Legion. The band Alliance will perform, and corned beef and a cabbage will be served from 5-7 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge for this event that includes a free drink and party favors.
