The Marion County Conservation Department will be collecting discarded Christmas trees in Knoxville on Monday, Jan. 3. Pickup routes will only be driven once.
The Conservation Department requests that trees be placed next to the street curb before 8 a.m. on Jan. 3. Trees should be free of all decorations, tree stands, metal fasteners, tinsel and should not be in plastic bags.
There will be a Christmas tree drop-off site located at Marion County Park near the entrance between the dates of Dec. 26, 2021, and Jan. 15, 2022.
All trees will be used for wildlife cover and fisheries habitat in Conservation areas.
