KNOXVILLE — The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors are holding a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the Competine Trail Extension. The ribbon cutting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021.
The City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation department has overseen the completion of phase two of the Competine Trail Extension. The trail is now two miles long, beginning at the Randy Wilson Track and ending at 5th Street.
The extension begins on the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics grounds, includes a safe crossing at Highway 14, follows Gordon Drive along Competine Creek to Roche Street, and ends at 5th Street.
The ribbon cutting will take place where the trail extension started on the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics grounds. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.
