Rockhold receives award

Angie Rockhold is presented with the DAISY award at Pella Regional Health Center

PELLA — Pella Regional Health Center is proud to announce that Angie Rockhold in the medical/surgical unit is a DAISY recipient.

The DAISY program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on the special touches and human consideration that these nurses give to their patients.

Excerpt from Angie’s nomination:

“Angie is a great nurse! Not only does she take great care of her patients, but also her fellow co-workers when needed. She is very efficient and passionate about nursing and it shows in all she does. Angie is very diverse in her clinical experiences and has helped and encouraged many new nurses sharpen their skills. Angie serves selflessly as a peer preceptor for her co-workers, new hires, and students. She ensures best practice, safety, and collaboration of the patient care team. Angie shows dedication to the nursing profession with compassion to patients, families, peers and the community through her selfless service.”

Rockhold received a certificate that reads: “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.” She was also given a sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
