One key player for Knoxville
Marley McKay has been playing some really good volleyball as of late in all three phases of the game. Knoxville’s senior setter has 643 assists on the season and has spread the ball around nicely. She stepped up defensively in the Panthers last outing against Centerville, finishing with eight digs and two blocks. McKay has also been a dominant server in the playoffs, going 43-of-44 with 10 aces. The senior won’t want Tuesday to be her last high school volleyball game so you should expect another strong all-around night from McKay.
Keys for Knoxville
Staying aggressive with their serve. These two are nearly identical when it comes to the serve. They both serve at a 93% clip with about six aces per set. Which team will stay aggressive with their serve and which team will make mistakes in that department and award their opponents some free points? Neither team enforces a tall front line which should mean some good back and forth offense. Both back lines will be tested and Knoxville has a good one led by senior libero Maggie Wilkins. This should be a competitive battle with a trip to state on the line on a neutral court.
