PELLA — The Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association (IHSSCA) recently released their all-state boys soccer teams with three Dutch earning honors.
Isaac Semini earned first team honors while Josh Warner and Mason Holland were selected to the second team in Class 2A.
Semini, a junior forward, led the Dutch in scoring with 20 goals (tied for 16th in 2A) to go along with four assists.
Warner, a senior defender, was the anchor for the Dutch back line. He showed his combination of quickness and physicality all year long to limit opposing team’s chances. Pella was one of six 2A teams to average less than a goal against per game.
Holland, a senior goalkeeper, was another reason for Pella’s stellar defensive numbers. The Drake soccer commit had 10 clean sheets on the year and a save percentage of 84.5%.
Pella finished with a 15-5 record and made their sixth state tournament appearance in school history before losing 2-1 to ADM in the quarterfinals.
Knoxville’s Emmett Schmidt was an honorable mention.
