Peoples Bank will file an application with the Iowa Department of Banking and FDIC to open a branch in Knoxville, located at 413 Main St. in spring of 2021.
This will be a locally-owned branch offering a variety of personal checking and savings options, including online/mobile banking, business, commercial accounts and loans for personal, business, real estate, commercial and agricultural needs.
“Knoxville is a perfect community for Peoples Bank, because rural Iowa is in our DNA” said Kevin Halterman, president and CEO of Peoples Bank. “We plan on offering all of the technology that makes banking easy, combined with one-on-one personal service. Our local team of employees will understand the needs of the community.”
This will be the seventh location for Peoples Bank, which began in a small office on the Indianola square in 1998. From there, they opened locations in Lacona and Milo in 2001; Carlisle in 2003; a new Indianola building in 2004; Pleasantville in 2014; and Seymour in 2017. In 2021, the bank also will open a new operations building in Indianola.
“Our guiding principles have always been to be trustworthy, provide great service, and reinvest in our communities,” Halterman said. “We look forward to getting to know our new neighbors and friends in Knoxville.”
