NEVADA — A pair of area teams gathered in the Nevada for a wrestling triangular on Thursday night. Pella would pick up a pair of wins on the night while Knoxville fell in their two duals.
Pella and Knoxville would meet up in the second dual of the night.
The Dutch would take the dual 52-24, getting pins from Logan Schroeder (120), Peyton Ritzert (138), Jackson Van Kley (145), Ryan Van Donselaar (170) and Daniel Loftis (220).
Damion Clark squeaked out a 5-4 decision at 113 while Ryan Hancock earned a 12-0 major at 126 and Nathan Born won a high-scoring battle 15-10 at 152 for Pella.
For Knoxville, they got falls from Luke Spaur (132), Wayne Johnston (160) and Gage Rowley (195).
The Panthers took on Nevada before Pella and fell in a tough battle, 45-36.
Knoxville got falls from Spaur, Sean Collins (145), Kale Kincaid (152) and Johnson to go up 30-21 heading into the final five matches.
But it was Nevada getting six-point results in four of those five matches to take the dual.
Pella wrapped up the night by taking care of Nevada, 50-21.
The Dutch nabbed pins from Van Kley, Gavin Norton (160) and Ethan Milligan (182). They also got decision victories from Schroeder (7-1), TR Putz (10-3) and Ritzert (9-6) while Van Donselaar rolled to an 18-1 tech fall.
Pella travels to Williamsburg on Saturday at 10 a.m. while Knoxville goes to Nodaway Valley on Saturday at 10 a.m.
