PELLA — The Pella Lady Dutch could not keep up with the bats of the Panthers on Tuesday as they would fall at home 13-0 in four innings.
Knoxville started out the game hot as they would get the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the first inning. Taylor Tousey, who got the start for the Pella softball team, was able to navigate herself out of the jam allowing only one run. The only run of that inning would come off a sacrifice fly out to left field from Elaina Hamilton. This would put Knoxville up 1-0 at the end of the first inning.
Knoxville would take the early lead and add to lead fast as they added eight more runs in the top of the third inning.
The Dutch could never get their bats rolling as they recorded four hits in the four inning game. Katie Pollock, Kiki Riggen, Ava Curry, and Payton Lyons led the team at the plate, each with one hit.
Knoxville would go on to shut out the Dutch in the game as Jadyn Streigle would pitch all four innings for the Panthers. She would be credited with the complete game shutout.
Tousey would get the start on the mound for the Lady Dutch. She would go on to pitch three innings while allowing nine runs off seven hits. Riggen relieved Tousey in the fourth inning, giving up three runs on four hits.
The Panthers would score four more runs in the fourth inning giving them the win 13-0.
