Oskaloosa's Macie Krier serves in match earlier this season

OSKALOOSA — The Oskaloosa and Knoxville volleyball teams both competed in weekend tournaments as the Indians were in Cedar Rapids while the Panthers were in Atlantic.

The third-ranked (4A) Oskaloosa Indians went 2-2 in the day with convincing wins over Davenport Central (21-3, 21-9) and Linn-Mar (21-13, 21-12) before falling to No. 8 (4A) Xavier (21-15, 21-17) and No. 10 (5A) Johnston (21-17, 18-21, 15-13).

Knoxville went 3-1 on the day at Atlantic with wins over Atlantic (21-19, 21-18), No. 13 (1A) St. Albert (21-15, 17-21, 15-13) and No. 14 (2A) Treynor (21-15, 22-20) with their lone loss coming to Winterset (21-19, 21-11).

Brittany Bacorn and Emma Dunkin were both named to the all-tournament team.

Bacorn finished the day with 27 kills, 32 assists, 23 digs while going 34-of-38 from behind the line with five aces.

Dunkin had 26 digs and was 31-of-33 serving with four aces.

No. 3 (4A) Oskaloosa (9-2, 1-0 LHC) returns to action on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. when they host Newton (5-4, 0-1 LHC). Knoxville (5-3, 0-1 SCC) will host Davis County (8-4, 1-0 LHC) on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
