With the postseason just around the corner, Carter Bailey and Knoxville had a busy six-game week that saw them go 4-2. Bailey was dominate on the mound and at the plate for the Panthers as he and the rest of the team look to get into top form in time for Friday’s playoff game.
Bailey’s big highlight of last week came on Wednesday when he would pitch a five-inning no-hitter in Knoxville’s 13-0 win over Clarke. His only two runners came on Knoxville errors as he would not allow a walk or a hit with eight strikeouts. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs.
On the week, Bailey batted .647 with five doubles, one home run, five RBIs, two walks and one stolen base. On the mound, he finished 1-0 in two appearances without giving up a hit, a walk or a run in 6 1/3 innings of work with 11 punch outs.
On the season, Bailey is hitting .341 with five doubles, two home runs and six RBIs. On the mound, he is 2-0 with a 1.05 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings.
Bailey and Knoxville (8-9) host Fairfield (4-14) on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
