Knoxville's Luke Keitges (1) goes up for a layup in a game earlier this season.

CENTERVILLE/EDDYVILLE — The Panthers picked up a pair of SCC road wins over the weekend as they downed Centerville 56-40 before travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont to defeat the Rockets 71-60 on Saturday.

The Panthers held a one-point lead over Centerville after the first quarter but would find themselves trailing at the half, 32-28.

Knoxville flipped the switch in the second half to outscore the Big Reds 28-8 in the final 16 minutes to pull away with the win.

Spencer Hixson led Panthers with 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and 3-of-5 from three to go with seven rebounds. Luke Keitges had a big night inside with a double-double of 14 points, 16 rebounds and four steals.

Knoxville then finished off their second night of a back-to-back in Eddyville. They started strong with a 17-12 lead after one but that lead was cut to three at the half before EBF entered the fourth quarter tied with the Panthers.

But once again, Knoxville would turn it on in the fourth to outscore the Rockets 23-12 in the final eight minutes to secure the victory.

Kieren Nichols finished with 27 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals while Hixson ended with 21 points and seven rebounds. Keitges finished just short of another double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
