INDIANOLA — Class 4A regional volleyball got started on Tuesday as Knoxville made their way to No. 13 Indianola for a quarterfinal matchup. Both teams exchanged sets to start but it was the Indians closing out a 3-1 (25-16, 8-25, 25-20, 25-18) victory to eliminate the Panthers and advance.

Indianola started strong to take the first set 25-16 before Knoxville would respond by dominating the second set 25-8 to even up the match at one set a piece.

The Panthers looked like they were on their way to winning the third set but a 6-0 rally by Indianola would push the Indians to wins the set, 25-20. They would carry that momentum into the fourth set and close out the match.

Lauren Blake would lead Indianola with 12 kills, 16 assists, 14 digs, two blocks and two aces.

Knoxville’s dynamic player Brittany Bacorn finished with six kills, 23 assists, eight digs, three blocks and two aces.

Abby Wadle led the offense in her final match with 12 kills while Melanie Sullivan added eight kills.

Charlee Heffron had three of Knoxville’s 11 blocks while Emma Dunkin had a big night with 26 digs while Sullivan finished with 14 digs.

Knoxville finishes with a 23-15 record and say farewell to their six seniors in Kira Deaver, Angelina DeSocio, Paige Ludington, Tara Bacorn, Abby Wadle and Charles Heffron.
