Who: Knoxville (1-5, 1-2) vs Atlantic (1-5, 0-3)
Where: Trojan Bowl in Atlantic
When: Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
First meeting in VarsityBound era (since 2006).
One key player for Knoxville
Knoxville had their best defensive performance of the season a week ago holding Saydel to 14 points and a big part of that was the great play of sophomore Tyce Huyck, who led the team with nine tackles. The Panthers will face an Atlantic offense that has been shutout three times this season and have had their struggles. Can Huyck lead the Knoxville defense for a second week in a row and take some pressure off the offense?
Keys for Knoxville
Stop the Trojan running game. Knoxville has shown that if they can get teams into obvious passing situations, they can take advantage of them. The Panthers have seven interceptions this season and Atlantic has thrown seven so far this year. The Trojan running game has been held to 2.5 yards per carry so look for Knoxville to try and can continue that trend and let their secondary and pass rush go to work. Offensively, expect the Panthers to continue to try to get their own run game going and sprinkle in some passes along the way as they look to extend their win streak to two in a row.
