KNOXVILLE — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is hosting their second Community Plant Sale on Saturday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The sale will be held at the church, located at 1506 S Attica Road in Knoxville (the church by the golf course on Attica).
After the overwhelming success last year, they decided this year they could support two Marion County non-profits with the proceeds from the sale. All funds raised will be divided between the Knoxville Food Youth Initiative and Marion County United Way.
“We enjoyed using our gifts and engaging the community so much last year that we wanted to host it again!” said Rev. Joshua Feala, pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
The outdoor and indoor plants for sale will be from congregation members’ gardens plus vegetables and perennials donated by Earl May.
“Warmer springtime weather has finally arrived. Many Marion County residents are excited about the opportunity to work out in the yard reconnecting with nature’s beauty,” said Phil Hoffman, head of the Community Plant Sale Planning Team. “The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church annual Plant Sale provides a way to jump start Perennial and some Annual plants and veggies in your yard. All the plants have been donated by area residents and some businesses. All proceeds go to nonprofit needs locally in Marion County. Similar to last year there will be around 500 plants for sale. All plants are priced inexpensively.”
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
