KNOXVILLE — The Panthers were able to find the end zone for the first time this season but the Carlisle rushing attack racked up over 400 yards as they cruised to a 62-6 win at Ken Locke Stadium on Friday night.
The Wildcats didn’t waste much time getting going as they took their first play of the game 51 yards for a touchdown. Carlisle would eventually go up 21-0 after the first quarter and 46-0 at halftime to start the running clock.
Knoxville would get on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter with Gavin Montalvo breaking free to rumble 38 yards for the Panthers’ first score of the season.
Montalvo was the leading rusher for Knoxville, finishing with 55 yards on four carries. The Panthers were unable to get the passing game going against Carlisle as QB Noah Keefer finished 3-of-10 with two interceptions.
The Wildcats were led on the ground by Jonathan Dunn, who notched 204 yards on eight carries with three touchdowns. Carlisle finished the night with 414 yards on the ground.
Knoxville (0-3) wraps up non-district play on Friday at 7:30 p.m. when they travel to Fairfield (2-1).
