WASHINGTON — A nail-biter to the end. The Dutch would fall in the last inning to Washington in a hard-fought road battle.

Both teams scored two runs in the first inning with the Demons briefly taking the lead with a run in the second before the Dutch tied it at three in the third. Washington would eventually walk it off with one run in the bottom of the seventh.

Pella (9-10) hosts ADM (9-6) for senior night on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Knoxville 11, Fairfield 1

KNOXVILLE — As they continue their final tune-ups before starting postseason play on Friday, Knoxville was able to pick up a convincing six inning run-rule victory over Fairfield.

The Trojans scored their lone run in the top of the third before Knoxville would rattle off five runs in the third, three in fourth and three more in the sixth to walk off the game.

Ben Olson led the Panther bats by going 2-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs. Colton Jones reached four times with a single and three walks while Luke Spaur, Carter Bailey, Bode Cox and Mike Hudson all drove in one run.

Bailey got the win after pitching 4 2/3 innings for Knoxville, giving up one unearned run on one hit with three walks and six strikeouts. Beau Leisure pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, not allowing any baserunners with one punch out.

Knoxville (9-9) wraps up regular season play on Tuesday at 5 p.m. when they host Centerville (10-3).
