KNOXVILLE — Twenty-three new students have been inducted into the Knoxville National Honor Society.

The following students were inducted Monday evening during an official ceremony held at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center:

Jamie Beal, Jayce Hughes, Tyler Peterson, Isaac Schmidt, Cheyenne Tille, Brandon Barkey, John Buttell, Chloe Cahill, Myah Carmona, Raegan Cook, Isabella Day-Suhr, Angelina DeSocio, Halle Gilchrist, Charlee Heffron, Joseph Hembrook, Johanna Leonard, Olivia Maasdam, Hallie McRoberts, Emmett Schmidt, Claire Schneider, Benjamin VandeKamp, Abigail Wadle and Lily Yocum.

These students join the following returning members:

Gracie Collins, Katelynn Collins, Kinsli Cram, Reilly Finarty, Marley McKay, Josalin McKeever, Jalen Nelson, Kieren Nichols, Brianna Norman, Brady Pearson, Abigail Pech, Amelia Sullivan, Tara Uitermarkt and Maggie Wilkins.

The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States.  Selection is based on scholarship, leadership, service and character.
