OSKALOOSA — Poppy’s BarnYard held a ribbon-cutting on Thursday to welcome families of Oskaloosa to visit their open, green space — along with meeting all of the animals.

Volunteers for the Poppy’s Barnyard have worked towards building an all-inclusive playground and interactive barn for visiting children. Their corn crib aviary was also dismantled and reassembled, making a better living space for their birds.

The animals residing in the area include alpacas, ponies, chickens, rabbits, goats, and pigeons. The barnyard is located at 2585 Osburn Ave. They will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Oct. 30.
