PELLA — Dr. Glenda Van Wyk has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was young. Now the Pella native is proud to open her own small animal veterinary clinic right in her hometown.
Van Wyk Veterinary Clinic began taking appointments in January. The practice is located in the former Digital Galleria building on Old Highway 163.
The clinic has a staff of five and offers routine examinations and vaccinations, hospitalization and monitoring, preventative health care, laboratory diagnostics, radiology, surgery and dental cleaning and treatment.
“We also offer grooming, and we’re planning to start offering boarding services later this spring,” Dr. Van Wyk said. “We are in the process of building 40 runs for dogs and a special area for cats.”
Dr. Van Wyk was born and raised in Pella. She is a graduate of Pella Community High School and Central College. In 2006, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
“While I have a soft spot for animals of the the feline persuasion, I have always loved all animals. I started working at a veterinary clinic when I was 16 years old, and I’ve never looked back,” Dr. Van Wyk said. “I really believe in the human-animal bond, and I’m excited to be accepting new patients.”
Pet owners can contact Van Wyk Veterinary Clinic at 641-505-1085 or email email@example.com. The clinic can also be found and messaged on Facebook or through the PetPro Connect app. Van Wyk Veterinary Clinic is located at 2525 Old Highway 163, Pella, Iowa.
