Independence Village of Pella residents and staff raised money and baked dog treats to give to Marion County Humane Society. Along with the treats and monetary donations, they donated toys, trash bags, paper towels, laundry detergent, and dish soap.
The humane society often brings animals to the community for pet therapy sessions. The residents have expressed how much they enjoy the animals coming in because many of them don’t have animals of their own.
The community is welcoming of pets, and there are 5 cats and 1 dog at the community currently, but the residents always love to interact with more.
One resident said, “It is so great to see their cute faces! I had a dog growing up, and they always provide the best company."
The Marion County Human Society has a mission to care for homeless pets and educate the public about responsible pet ownership. They are always in need of donations and loving homes to place animals.
Independence Village of Pella offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care services. The community is located at 2602 Fifield Road in Pella.
